Hawkeye set for Ascot return

Jim Goldie is targeting a return trip to Ascot for the Wokingham Stakes following Hawkeyethenoo's convincing victory in the Victoria Cup at the Berkshire track last weekend.
The tough five-year-old is likely to be aimed at the big six-furlong handicap at the Royal meeting despite showing he is effective over an extra furlong last time out, winning with some authority by two and a half lengths from Manassas in a 28-runner field after hitting the front a furlong out.
The Glasgow handler said: "He's come out of Ascot in excellent form. He's bouncing about like a champion. He's really well and we're looking forward to Ascot. I think we'll go the Wokingham route."
